Bottle Garden POS on desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone

A point-of-sale system for a 12-store liquor chain that cut checkout time by 30%.

02

Context

Bottle Garden runs 12 liquor stores across city centres and suburbs, selling spirits, wine, and beer to casual buyers and collectors alike. Its growth had outpaced the tools behind the counter.

03

Challenge

Stock was counted by hand across locations, sales reports arrived weekly, and checkout averaged five minutes per transaction. Inventory data was only 80% accurate, and new staff needed two weeks to learn the system.

04

Strategic insight

We interviewed owners, store managers, and cashiers, built personas, and benchmarked Pawoon and Moka. The insight: one POS had to serve two very different people — admins who need depth across stores, and cashiers who need speed at the till. One product, two interfaces.

05

Solution

We designed and built a web and Android POS. The admin side covers multi-store inventory, purchase orders, suppliers, automatic and bundle discounts, and live sales reporting; the cashier side is a short checkout with cash, card, and e-wallet payments. Six rounds of mockup reviews and usability tests with store staff shaped the flows, and Cypress automation covered the core paths before rollout.
